The Joshua tree can grow to 15to 40 feet tall and a diamater That can grow 1 to 3 feet. There branches grow to 12 to 18 inches long. The Pancake Prickly Cactus has a thick trunk. Can grow to 7feet and 9 inches tall. The Chain fruit cholla segment branches leaves are about 1/2 inch to 1 inch long when young. Flowers will bloom every year.

Winds in the desert are light and flow downward.They are seldom penetrated by masses that create rain. The desert is a hot, dry, place. It is really hot in the day. But cold at night. Clouds scarce and there's not much rain or snow.
Mohave or Mojave Desert is the smallest of the four deserts in North America. It's located California. The coordinates are 35 degrees to 36 degrees latitude North 115 degrees to 117 degrees longitude . The Mojave Desert is located in the Great Basin is a cold desert. The Sonoran desert is south of the Great Basin.
Animals in the desert survive in hostile environment. Intense heat and lack of water are a few of the challenges facing desert animals. Animals that live in hot deserts have many adaptations. Some animals donot even drink any water. But get water from seeds. Some contain up to 50% water and in plants. Many animals are nocturnal they sleep during the day and hunt at night.
